IELTS Preparation courses (Non-accredited)

Our one month IELTS preparation course facilitates test-takers to learn the right methodology to get through their IELTS exam both in the General and Academic. Students are provided with tips, techniques and strategies as well as lessons to understand the examiners’ assessment criteria that assist them attempt IELTS successfully.

THIS COURSE AIMS TO

  • Acquaint students with the format and content of IELTS
  • Provide students with relevant tips and strategies that are helpful for the IELTS test
  • Provide material for practice in all areas of the test
  • Administer regular mock tests with individual feedback and advice from certified trainers

COURSE OUTLINE

Reading

Developing speed reading skills of learners; practicing material from various magazines, especially The Guardian Newspaper, Dawn, BBC and Huffington Post. Working on individual strategies for all question types of the reading module.

Writing

Developing graphic language (task one) – interpreting and comparing data; describing tables, objects, graphs and processes. Also, organising separate sessions of letter writing (task one) for the General IELTS students. Individual feedback on all types of essays; argumentative, opinion (agree or disagree) advantages & disadvantages, problem/cause & solution, discussion (discuss both view).

Listening

Extracting information from texts of varying lengths i.e. university lectures, radio interviews, radio documentaries, conversations. Improving both monologues & dialogues listening skills; focusing
on all types of questions on the listening test.

Speaking

Providing information in a formal interview context; giving an extended talk on a given topic; taking part in a formal discussion; giving a formal presentation/report. Conducting speaking mock test at the end of the module.

Grammar

Language required for describing graphs and diagrams including comparatives and superlatives, the passive voice.

Vocabulary

Develop vocabulary connected with the most common IELTS topics, enhance uncommon lexical items and formal phrases.

EXPECTED COURSE OUTCOMES

At the end of the course students will be able to take the IELTS exam confidently.
